What usually goes wrong
Bad stamped concrete is obvious forever. Repeating pattern lines, blotchy color and mat seams at the edges are the giveaways, and they cannot be corrected after the pour.
Stamped concrete gets its character from timing. The mat has to hit the slab in a narrow window, and the release and color have to be worked evenly or the pattern turns muddy. This is the work that separates crews. We keep the same two finishers on every stamped job so the pattern reads consistently across the whole surface.
